12 DAYS OF THANKSGIVING : Day 6: Thankful for Peace in the Storm
John 14:27“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you… Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
And then there is a peace that Jesus gives supernatural, unshakeable, steady in the middle of chaos.
We often thank God when life feels calm and everything is going as planned. But there is a deeper level of thanksgiving that comes when we look back and say:
“Even when everything around me was falling apart, God held me together.”
Peace That Makes No Sense
Jesus never promised a life without storms
but He promised peace inside the storm.
It’s the peace that guards your heart when fear tries to overwhelm you.
It’s the peace that allows you to sleep while waves are crashing.
It’s the peace that whispers “Be still” when everything screams “Panic.”
This peace is not the absence of trouble
it is the presence of God.
When Peace Becomes a Testimony
Some of the strongest people are not those who never struggle,
but those who shine while struggling.
If you have ever:
-
walked through a painful season without losing your mind,
-
endured heartbreak but still found hope,
-
faced sickness, loss, or uncertainty yet chose faith,
-
smiled even while crying,
Then you have experienced the peace that surpasses understanding.
That peace is a gift and today we thank God for it.
A Heart of Thanksgiving
So today we say:
-
Thank You, Lord, for peace when I should have broken.
-
Thank You for calming the storm inside me when the storm outside raged.
-
Thank You that I am still standing, still breathing, still believing.
-
Thank You that Your presence is my anchor.
The world may shake, but Your peace holds me steady.
Living Thankfully
To live thankful for peace means:
-
Staying close to Jesus instead of clinging to control.
-
Choosing prayer instead of panic.
-
Trusting His plan even when we don’t understand.
-
Becoming a peacemaker in a chaotic world.
Because we are not just recipients of peace
we are carriers of it.
Conclusion
Storms will come. Waves will rise. Winds will blow.
But the peace of God remains unshaken.
Let today’s thanksgiving rise from this truth:
I have peace not because life is perfect, but because God is with me.
